Responsibilities

Toni Chops is a full time Assistant Professor who provides didactic instruction in senior nursing courses. Her responsibilities within the traditional prelicensure program involve coordinating the population centered course, Caring Health Perspectives for Community Nursing. Professor Chops functions as the course coordinator for the same course for students enrolled in the Second Degree Accelerated Program (SDAP). She teaches Caring Practices within the Community within the RN-BSN Online Program and has fulfilled the role as preceptor for the Post Masters Nursing Education certificate program. Her job responsibilities also include serving as mentor for students enrolled in the Senior Honors Program. Clinical specialty areas are community based health care strategies, and population based program development.

Education

Professor Chops completed her Associate of Science degree from West Virginia Northern College and her Bachelor of Science degree from West Liberty State College with cum laude distinction. She received her Master of Science degree from The Ohio State University.

Grants

Professor Chops coordinates an after school fitness training and social cognition nutrition program for high risk and obese children. The program is a community partnership between Mount Carmel College of Nursing, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and Columbus Public Schools.
