I volunteer to do sports physicals for The Maysville School District in Zanesville OH., where we complete PE's on over 200 students every year. We try to take our NP students and utilize this as a teaching-learning experience. I volunteer one day per week in a small private family practice in my community to keep my skills and professional knowledge current . I will be volunteering at our local public school system to help get all of their school physicals completed this year and in the future. I also participate in various other community volunteer activities for our Catholic Church Parish and St. Rose School. I volunteer to help out at the drug screening and influenza clinics in the college and have helped at the local soup kitchen. I am looking forward to participating in my first medical mission trip this summer and feel very blessed for the opportunity to go with our nursing students.
I successfully completed my first medical mission trip to the DR with 17 of our BSN students.
