Admissions Criteria : Traditional Four Year Program
Mount Carmel College of Nursing has a competitive admissions process for our Traditional Four Year Program in which students are considered largely based on their academic performance and credentials.
To give you a profile of our students, here is some information on those admitted for Fall Semester of 2010:
- Average composite ACT score: 22.4
- Average high school grade point average (GPA): 3.49 on a 4.0 scale
All students are considered under the following competitive standards.
- Required minimum GPA: 3.0 on 4.0 scale
- Recommended ACT and/or SAT score: 20 ACT or 950 SAT
- Completion of following college prepartory high school courses with a grade of "C" or better
- 4 Units English
- 3 Units Mathematics (including Algebra II)
- 3 Units Laboratory Science (including Biology & Chemistry)
- 3 Units Social Science
- 2 Units Foreign Language (sign language accepted)
- 1 Unit Visual or Performing Art
Should any of the above courses not been successfully completed while in high school, the college equivalent must be taken. College equivalent courses are 100 level courses.
