Josephine Walters Carestar Scholarship
In 1945, Josephine Walters found herself a widow with two teenage daughters, one of whom had just been diagnosed with polio. She went to work to support her family and throughout her life she exhibited a loving, kind and caring personality to everyone she met. When she became ill at the age of 88 and nurses were called to care for her, she continued to share the love and compassion she had always shown to her family and friends. This same affection and compassion was returned to her by the nurses who felt privileged to care for her.
