Eligibility

Students may participate in May Commencement if they have no more than two nursing clinical courses remaining and are eligible to complete the nursing program within the same calendar year

Check your student mailbox, WebCT, and The Carmel Rapper frequently so you won’t miss important information or deadlines – including information about when tickets will be available for pickup.

Graduation Requirements

Update your degree audit to make sure all graduation requirements have been met. Pre-licensure students contact Karen Greene, Director of Records and Registration; RN-BSN and Master's students contact Kip Sexton, Program Advisor.

Community Service

Complete your Community Service Program requirement and submit documentation to Mary Nibert.

Sigma Theta Tau

If you are a member of Sigma Theta Tau and do not already have a purple/white honor cord, order one from the organization's website: http://www.nursingsociety.org/catalog/catalog_gifts.html.   Members may also purchase cords from Sherry Hull for $10.  Her office is located in Marian Hall 302 or contact her at shull@mchs.com

NCLEX-RN Prep

Prepare for the National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN) that will measure your competency to perform as a registered nurse and is required for entrance into the profession.

Graduation Cap and Gown

Jostens is the authorized source for the MCCN graduation cap and gown. Deadline for online orders is April 1, 2010.

For those who are interested, optional graduation announcements, class rings, note cards, etc., can be ordered from jostens.com (items normally ship within two weeks).

Rehearsal for Pinning and Commencement

All graduates must attend rehearsal at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2010, at First Church of God.

Ceremony Arrival Times

Graduates must arrive at First Church of God one hour in advance of both ceremonies: at 6 p.m. on May 7 for Pinning and at noon on May 8 for Commencement.

Commencement and Pinning Tickets

Each graduating student will be allotted seven Commencement tickets at no charge. Tickets will be available for pick-up beginning April 1 in Room 201, Marian Hall (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday). No tickets are required for the Pinning and Recognition Ceremony.

All guests must show ticket to be admitted to the ceremonies.

Attire

In recognition of the significance of these events, the appropriate attire for graduates is the approved senior uniform for baccalaureate pinning and business dress under the cap and gown for graduation.
