The majority of Mount Carmel Health Sciences Library’s electronic resources are available from any computer with internet access.

However you must complete our Library Registration form before you can access the library’s resources from home.

When you first access one of our electronic resources from home or any computer outside of Mount Carmel, you will see this screen:

Enter your last name and your barcode and you will be granted access.

What is My Barcode?

If you are a MCCN student…

Your barcode is the first initial of your first name and first initial of your last name followed by the last 4 digits of your Social Security number.

For example:

The barcode for Sally Jones (SSN 123-45-6789) is "sj6789".

Note: If you are an employee attending the Mount Carmel College of Nursing, your barcode is explained below.

If you are a Mount Carmel Associate…

Your barcode is the first initial of your first name and first initial of your last name followed by your six digit Associate ID number.

For example:

The barcode for Sally Jones (Employee ID 123456) is "sj123456".

If you are a Mount Carmel Physician…

Your barcode is your Medical ID.

For example:

The barcode for Dr. Sally Jones (Medical ID d1234) is "d1234".
