They are advocates for what is good, what is important, and what is right. Your gift helps ensure that highly skilled nurses will be there – at the bedside, in the home, teaching the next generation, and conducting the research that helps us understand how to prevent problems and make life better. Here at Mount Carmel College of Nursing, we are proud of our alumni and the education they received at MCCN. Nearly 6,000 MCCN nurses have taken their place in the health care industry throughout the world. Our nation is in an economic recession that is proving to be deep and wide. No one is more aware of the challenging impact on family budgets than our students who share the dream of becoming professional nurses. With this recession comes a decrease in federal funding, as well as fewer state dollars available to support higher education. In addition, families who have saved for their children’s college education have seen their investments evaporate overnight. Even students and their families who qualify for loan financing are finding that lenders are reticent. In short, for those who dream of becoming professional nurses - these are uncertain times. With the high demand for nursing professionals and the extensive and varied career opportunities available today, your generous donation helps ensure that the educational needs of our nursing students are being met today and in the future. Funding PrioritiesThe opportunity to graduate additional professional nurses while maintaining the high quality of the College will require a collaborative effort by many stakeholders, both public and private. To face these challenges head-on, you are invited to become part of the solution by participating as a charter member in the inaugural Mount Carmel College of Nursing Annual Campaign, which has these objectives: - Student Scholarships - At a time when the nation faces a critical nursing shortage and the economy is uncertain, scholarships become even more essential and offer educational opportunities to qualified students from a wide variety of backgrounds who dream of caring for patients, conducting research or teaching to open doors for those who will follow.
- College Resources - The College continually faces the challenge of maintaining facilities and teaching aids. By providing supporting technologies to keep up with constantly expanding scientific and medical knowledge and by renovating existing infrastructure to enhance student learning, we can maintain and improve the quality education MCCN is known for.
- Endowments – Endowments create permanent support and help to attract new, vital talent to Mount Carmel College of Nursing and development of New Programs is critical to preparing nurses of the future.
