Adventures in Healthcare 2008
Registration Now Underway!
 Two camps will be offered in June 2008 - one for middle school students entering grades 7, 8 & 9 and another for high school students entering grade 10, 11 &12 Now entering its seventh year, Camp Mount Carmel is designed for students who’ve expressed interest in the healthcare field----such as nursing, physician practice, physical therapy, radiology, pharmacy and/ or other medical professions.
2008 Camp Dates
June 9-13 (middle school)
June 16-20 (high school) Sorry Full!
The camp fee is $225 ($200 for children/ grandchildren of Mount Carmel employees) which includes snacks, fees and transportation to field trips, a T-shirt and meals associated with a college overnight experience. The camp runs from 8:30-3:30 p.m. daily, plus a Thursday evening celebration at Mount Carmel College of Nursing which runs until 8 p.m.
Camp includes:
- Exciting tours of hospital areas
- Shadowing and learning from various healthcare professionals
- A visit to COSI for the live Surgical Suite
- "Operating Room Adventures" at Mount Carmel St. Ann's, where students will scrub, gown and learn about OR instruments and techniques
- A visit to community outreach centers
- A Thursday evening celebration at Mount Carmel College of Nursing
