Mount Carmel College of Nursing has named Jill Kilanowski, PhD, RN, APRN, CPNP, FAAN, associate dean for Graduate Education, effective July 13, 2015.

Kilanowski, who is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner, nurse scientist and educator, comes to Mount Carmel from Michigan State University where she has taught since 2012. She has spent nearly two decades in nursing education at various institutions, including Capital University and The Ohio State University, among others.

“Dr. Kilanowski’s teaching career, scholarly research and understanding of career development for the nursing profession is a tremendous asset for Mount Carmel,” says President, MCCN, Christine A. MCCN’s highly sought, well-respected graduate program offers a new Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, which begins in August, and a Master of Science (MS) degree with four track offerings, enabling nurses to advance their careers by preparing for roles as nurse practitioners, administrators or educators.

In October 2013, Kilanowski was inducted as a Fellow in the American Association of Nurses and is currently serving as Chair of the National Advisory Council of Migrant Health for the Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA). Her research interest explores the health of children who are members of migrant and seasonal agricultural worker families or children of Latino immigrants.

She earned her PhD from The Ohio State University and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Columbia University in New York, where she also earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Most recently, she completed a National Institutes of Health KL2 career development award with Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
