Through a collaborative relationship with Oakwood Management Company, apartment style living adjacent to the College is available to students.

Imagine being just a few minutes' walk from class and the library; a short drive to restaurants, activities, and events in downtown Columbus; and surrounded by classmates to socialize and study with. Mount Carmel students who reside in the apartments have a unique advantage in that every one of them is studying nursing—there is always someone around who can help you find the answer to your question and help you study for upcoming exams.

Apartment Amenities

Located adjacent to the College, the apartments house a total of 144 students in suite style living.

Provided at no extra charge in each apartment:
  • A living room with sofa, chairs, and end tables
  • A dining area with table and chairs
  • A kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer
  • Two bedrooms with two beds, two desks, and two dressers per room
  • Two full bathrooms
  • Blinds on all windows
  • Central air-conditioning
  • Time Warner cable television
  • A security system
  • Wireless internet
Conveniently available nearby:
  • Conference room with computer access in each building
  • Free parking in the Mount Carmel parking garage adjacent to complex
  • Access to exercise facility and Mount Carmel Health Sciences Library during designated hours
Students can individualize their unit with personal items:
  • Bed linens and pillows
  • Towels and washcloths
  • Dishes, pots, and pans
  • Lamps
  • Rugs

2007- 08 Guide to On-Campus Living

Topic Overview
Cost/ Rent Cost of living in the apartment is $450 per student per month.
Required Living First year (Fall Semester) undergraduate pre-licensure full-time and part-time students who live outside a 50-mile radius are required to live on campus.
Deposit A non-refundable deposit of $200 is required and will be applied to first month's rent.
Agreement 10 or 12 month agreements are available.
Utility costs Heat, water and electric utilities are included in the rent.
Phone/Cable/Internet Cable is included. Internet ready. A phone jack is in each apartment.
Rules/ Regulations Each student will receive a comprehensive handbook outlining policies and procedures and will be required to sign a statement indicating they have read and understand the contents of the book.
Parking Residents may park in the garage adjacent to the apartments.
Dining Meal plans are available for the Mount Carmel East, Mount Carmel West & Mount Carmel St. Ann's.
Safety and Security Each unit comes with a security system. Students may request an escort from hospital Safety and Security after hours. Blue phones are located at several locations on campus including outside of the Residence Halls.
Resident Advisors There will be two resident advisors (RAs) per apartment building. There is 24/7 RA coverage.
Apartment Repairs Call 234-5213 M-F, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., to report any repair needs. After hours, inform the RA of any issues
Campus Activities and Events Many activities and events are scheduled throughout the year for Mount Carmel students. Students are encouraged to become involved in a variety of activities, as it is an important part of the College experience.
