Mount Carmel uses a fair and efficient system to determine your eligibility for financial aid.
First we establish the total cost of attending Mount Carmel
College of Nursing, including tuition, fees, room and board,
books, uniforms, transportation, and personal expenses.
The total cost to attend will vary from year to year and
will differ for students living in the dorm and living out.
The sample student budget below will provide you with an estimated
total cost.
The next thing we determine is the expected family contribution (EFC). It’s based on a government formula that takes into consideration your and your family’s total income, the number of family
dependents, the number of students currently in college, and other assets. To help you understand the variables that will determine your EFC and affect your eligibility for financial aid, check out the Quick EFC Calculator. Keep in mind that this tool will give you only an approximate EFC.
Once the total cost of attendance and your EFC are determined, they’re used in the following equation to determine need-based aid programs for which you maybe eligible:
- Total cost of attending Mount Carmel
- Minus (-) Family (Student and parent or spouse) contribution (EFC)
- Equals (=) Eligibility for financial aid
