Mount Carmel College of Nursing offers financial assistance to top students through achievement-based scholarships. Unlike loans, these Achievement Awards need not be repaid. Each scholarship has unique application and selection criteria and is not automatically renewable, so closely follow the instructions below if you wish to be considered.

Achievement Awards

College Scholars Program Up to ten scholarships awarded to incoming Freshman students; $2,000 Fr. & So. year; $3,000 Jr. & Sr. year Recipient(s) must have minimum of 23 ACT score; 3.4 cumulative H.S. GPA (on 4.0 scale), demonstrated leadership qualities, and community service involvement Application through Admission Office; must maintain 3.2 GPA and full-time status each year to be renewable. May 1 deadline for application
Eleanor Wilson Academic Scholarship $1,000 Sophomore; $1,250 Junior;
$1,500 Senior
Awarded to students who complete a full year of full-time study (each semester) and maintain a minimum of 3.7 cumulative GPA at end of each year No application necessary
Eleanor Wilson Clinical Excellence Award Maximum $1,000 Awarded to a student who excels in clinical practice and has achieved a 3.0 or above cumulative GPA at the end of the Junior year No application necessary; recipient chosen by faculty committee
Foundation of National Student Nurses Association Various scholarships are available: general, career mobility, minority, and nursing specialty Criteria listed in application Application forms available in the SNAM office; deadline is January 30 for the following academic year
Mount Carmel Alumni Association 10 awards of $2,000 each Awarded at Convocation/ Gathering at start of each academic year to senior students in pre-licensure program, final semester students in RN/BSN program, final semester Masters program students and SDAP students. All applicants must have a 2.8 cumulative GPA or above. Applications are placed in the mailboxes of eligible students. (Deadline May 11, 2007)
Monsignor John J. McMahon Maximum $2,000 scholarship Awarded to Junior /Senior students; and Dietetic Interns minimum GPA 3.0 Submit application to Financial Aid Office by May 1
Miscellaneous Scholarships Amount varies Various scholarships available each year to upper-class Submit basic scholarship application to Financial Aid Office by May 1
Mother M. Constantine Scholarship Up to three scholarships awarded to upperclassmen, $1,000 Must have completed a year of full-time enrollment, 3.0 or above cumulative GPA, and be actively involved in community service Submit application and essay to scholarship committee by May 1
Presidential Scholarship Scholarships awarded to incoming freshman students; $3,000 Fr. & So. year; $4,000 Jr. & Sr. year Recipient(s) must have minimum of 25 ACT score, 3.5 cumulative H.S. GPA (on 4.0 scale), demonstrated leadership qualities, and community service involvement Apply through Admission Office; must maintain 3.4 GPA and full-time status each year to be renewable. May 1 deadline for application, essay, and references
Reynold Klages, MD Book Scholarship $500 per year Awarded annually to students based on financial need. Submit application to scholarship committee by May 1
Regina Sallee Williams Scholarship $1,000 Awarded to an African American student at Mount Carmel College of Nursing with minimum 2.86 GPA. Submit application and essay to scholarship committee by May 1
