Mount Carmel College of Nursing offers financial assistance to top students through achievement-based scholarships. Unlike loans, these Achievement Awards need not be repaid. Each scholarship has unique application and selection criteria and is not automatically renewable, so closely follow the instructions below if you wish to be considered.

Achievement Awards

Eleanor Wilson Clinical Excellence AwardMaximum $1,000Awarded to a student who excels in clinical practice and has achieved a 3.0 or above cumulative GPA at the end of the Junior yearNo application necessary; recipient chosen by faculty committee
Foundation of National Student Nurses AssociationVarious scholarships are available: general, career mobility, minority, and nursing specialty from a single applicationCriteria listed in applicationApplication forms available from the website www.nsna.org; students should submit materials for the College for verification prior to Christmas break as the deadline for submission is mid-January.  There is a fee for application.
Mount Carmel Alumni Association6 awards of $2,000 eachAwarded at Convocation/ Gathering at start of each academic year to senior students in pre-licensure program and final semester Masters program students. All applicants must have a 2.8 cumulative GPA or above.Applications are placed in the mailboxes of eligible students February 2010.

Eleanor Wilson Recruitment Scholarship $1,200Recipients must have a minimum 22 ACT score; 3.2 cummulative high school GPA (on 4.0 scale)No application necessary
Please note: Additional scholarship opportunities are available for Mount carmel students in various programs.Informational Flyers with specific details for each scholarship award will be placed in student mailboxes between February and April of each year.  information about other scholarships, which may become available during spring or summer months,  will also be placed in student mailboxes.
