Graduation Mementos

Jostens is the authorized source for the MCCN graduation cap and gown. Deadline for online orders is March 29, 2018.

For those who are interested, optional graduation announcements, diploma frames, class rings, note cards, etc., can be ordered from jostens.com (items normally ship within two weeks).

Photography at the Ceremonies

A professional photographer will be taking photos at both Pinning Recognition and Commencement. If you forget your cameras, run out of film or batteries, Bruce L. Heflin Photography will be there to capture those special moments.

Both ceremonies will be videotaped. DVD copies with both ceremonies can be purchased for $19.95. A composite of all graduates will be available at www.mypicturesnow.com.

RN, FAAN, FACHE, FNAP

Ann Marie T. Brooks, PhD, MBA, RN, FAAN, FACHE, FNAP, serves as interim president, Mount Carmel College of Nursing. Dr. Brooks is a recognized international leader, consultant and educator in nursing and healthcare with broad strategic and operational experience in health systems, academic health centers and community hospitals in the United States and abroad. She has extensive board experience from serving as the president of the American Organization of Nurse Executives and American Psychiatric Nurses Association, chair of the Psychiatric and Mental Health Governing Board, and dean of The Catholic University School of Nursing.

Dr. Brooks is Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and Fellow of the National Academies of Practice. She has substantial global nursing and healthcare experience leading organizations and providing leadership development programs to nurses from the New Independent States of the former Soviet Union and Central and Eastern European countries. She has published extensively and is a popular speaker. She has been team leader/magnet appraiser with the ANCC Magnet Recognition Hospital for the past 15 years.

Dr. Brooks is a graduate of the Wharton Nurse Executive Program and earned her PhD, MSN and BSN from The Catholic University of America and her MBA from Loyola College of Maryland.

Eligibility

Undergraduate students may participate in May Commencement if they have no more than two nursing clinical courses remaining and are eligible to complete the nursing program within the same calendar year

Graduation Requirements

Update your degree audit to make sure all graduation requirements have been met. Pre-licensure students contact Records and Registration; RN-BSN students contact Jami Nininger, Assistant Dean, and Master's students contact Jackie Min, Graduate Student Advisor.

Community Service

Complete your Community Service Program requirement and submit documentation to Dr. Scott Dolan (pre-licensure program), Jackie Min (Graduate Program Advisor), or Jami Nininger (RN-BSN Completion Program).

NCLEX-RN ATI Live Review

Prepare for the National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN).

Students on track to graduate from the traditional pre-licensure program are required to attend an onsite NCLEX Review offered in May during finals week. This is a three-day comprehensive in-class review held at MCCN on May 1-3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. . Additional details will be communicated to graduating pre-licensure students.

Rehearsal for Pinning and Commencement

All graduates must attend rehearsal at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018, at Grove City Church of the Nazarene.

Ceremony Arrival Times

Graduates must arrive at Grove City Church of the Nazarene one hour in advance of both ceremonies: at 6 p.m. on May 4 for Pinning and at 11 a.m. on May 5 for Commencement.

Attire

In recognition of the significance of these events, the appropriate attire is as follows:

Pinning

  • Traditional Pre-licensure Students: white uniform (not scrubs) adhering to MCCN clinical dress code. The student uniform may be worn if desired.
  • RN-BSN Students: knee length white lab coat over business attire.

Commencement

For All Students: business attire under cap and gown.

Parking at Grove City Church of the Nazarene is free and plentiful. Please park on the north or south side of the church.
