Sonya Saffell, MSN, FNP-BC

Assistant Professor

Sonya Saffell is a board certified family nurse practitioner that graduated from Otterbein College in June of 2010. She began her nursing career in 1996 after graduating from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Sonya worked as an BSN RN at Nationwide Children's Hospital, Buckeye Family Health and the Riverview Surgery Center before she began to educate nurses. She was first an instructor at Hocking College where she taught LPN students and then she began teaching at Ohio University. She currently teaches in the Masters Program working with FNP students at Mount Carmel College of Nursing. In addition to being an educator she enjoys her FNP practice days in internal medicine clinics and urgent care settings. She is married and has three active children.
