2018 Nursing Students Attitude Towards Interprofessional Teams and the Team Approach to Care. PI: Dr. Kathleen Williamson and Tina Nguyen (UGROW & Nursing Student). The present study will involve the undergraduate nursing students’ in the ACCEL-RN program at the Wilson School of Nursing. The aim is to investigate the attitude toward interprofessional teams and teams based care and to adjust teaching and curricula to meet IPEC competencies, national accreditation and academic standards. The purpose of the project is to measure nursing students’ attitudes of interprofessional education and interprofessional collaborative practice. The project will focus on both early learners as well as the change in attitudes and perceptions as a foundation. (Funded by: UGROW)

2017 HRSA-17-067 Advanced Nursing Education Workforce (ANEW) Program - Medically Underserved Specialization for Advanced Nursing Graduate Students (MUSTANGS). The purpose of the MUSTANGS project is to prepare family nurse practitioner (FNP) students to gain primary care employment with rural and/or underserved populations through innovative academic and clinical training in rural and/or underserved settings.
Project Director: Dr. Kathleen Williamson (25% effort). Funded by: U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HRSA) awarded $1,540,290.
2016 – 2017 Interdisciplinary Study on Nursing, Respiratory Care and Social Work
Undergraduate Students’ Practice of Attitudes Toward, and Knowledge/Skills with Evidence-based Practice. PIs: Dr. Kathleen Williamson, Dr. Jennifer Anderson, & Dr. Satyanarayana Ayinagadda. The purpose of the study is to identity patterns of adoption throughout the learning process, discover ways to support learning, and develop EBP skills to ensure competency upon graduation. Funded by: Faculty Development Grant awarded $4,999.00.
