What Does a Surgical Technologist Do?
Surgical technologists are essential members of the surgical team, working closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and efficient procedures. Their responsibilities include:
- Preparing operating rooms and surgical equipment.
- Assisting in patient preparation, including positioning and disinfecting the incision site.
- Supporting surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Providing post-operative care such as dressing wounds and transporting patients to recovery.
