Write-a-Thon Update

Some alumni have already requested their packets to begin their letters. As you’ll recall, the Write-a-Thon is a project of the Alumni Relations office in collaboration with Admissions. Alumni are needed to write letters to students who have been accepted to MCCN. Self-scripted, your short, handwritten letter will express your own heartfelt reasons for choosing Mount Carmel, as well as welcome students to the Mount Carmel family. This is a great project for those who live miles away but want to volunteer time and share their memories. To participate in the Write-a-Thon, send your contact information to the Alumni Relations office at alumnioffice@mccn.edu.

Like many people, you may be wondering what Planned Giving is. Planned giving is a way to integrate your personal, financial and estate planning goals. The right planned gift may provide you with tax and income benefits while helping Mount Carmel College of Nursing further our mission. Here are some of the most common planned gifts you can make:

One of the best times alumni have is helping new students at Orientation. Mark your calendar now for August 9, 2017. A new crop of students will arrive, ready for an adventure that you can help get off on the right foot. We need alumni volunteers to assist in two shifts 7 to 9:30 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Last year alumni were in charge of the registrations tables and this year our role has been expanded to also include conducting tours for students’ family members in the afternoon. This is a great opportunity to welcome our newest students—remember how you felt your first day? Volunteering for this comes with food and a t-shirt!
