Khan Academy in collaboration with Jonas Center for Nursing Excellence and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, is looking for the next generation of health educators! Together, we are launching a competition to identify the best health video lessons and accompanying questions. Winners will receive a 1-week trip (March 2-9, 2014) to get face-to-face training and support from Khan Academy to help us develop an open access, free resource for students and faculty in the health professions. Winners may then be invited to become Khan Academy Fellows, and to work with us on developing the next generation of health content!
Tutorial topics, including pathophysiology of diseases, risk factors, treatment, and prevention, will be drawn from a range of focus areas included on the NCLEX-RN. Ultimately, the goal of the partnership is to create a high-quality online resource with opportunities for deep learning engagement.
Full contest rules, submission guidelines, and criteria for entry are available on the Khan Academy website. The first tutorials are expected to be available in the spring of 2014 through Khan Academy’s online learning library. Funding to support the competition and content development has been provided by the Jonas Center for Nursing Excellence. To sign up and get helpful pointers, visit www.khanacademy.org/nclex-competition.
Submissions will be accepted until winners are chosen or by January 17, 2014. For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org.
