What inspired you to become a nurse?

I was inspired to pursue a career in nursing due to the ability to directly impact an individual's life and promote health and well-being. The versatility of the nursing profession allows me to engage in continuous learning and personal growth while making a tangible difference in the world. I wanted to be part of a field where my skills and dedication could improve the health and well-being of individuals and contribute to the larger community.

What is the best thing about Mount Carmel College of Nursing?

The reason that I applied to the DNP program at MCCN was to continue to grow in my professional role within my current position, enhance my knowledge of academic practices, implement evidence-based findings, and incorporate and develop innovative nursing practices. The academic support and the knowledge and expertise of the educators was a main reason that I selected this institution.

What are your goals for your nursing career?

Upon completion of the DNP program, I envision taking on leadership roles where I can influence positive change in nursing education. My commitment lies in bridging the gap between theory and practice, ensuring that nursing students are equipped with the most current knowledge and skills required in today's dynamic healthcare environment. I aim to bring fresh perspectives to curriculum development, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration and integrating emerging technologies into educational frameworks. As an academic leader, I intend to foster an environment that promotes critical thinking, adaptability, and a commitment to lifelong learning among students and faculty alike.

What advice would you give your younger self?

I would tell my younger self, to continue to dream, and continue to pursue my goals no matter how large they may seem. Take your goals one step and one day at a time. A year from now, will be a year from now, the time will still pass, but it is what you decide to do with your time that is meaningful.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in nursing?

A career in nursing is one of the best decisions that I have ever made. If you strive to make meaningful impacts and be an individual who can support someone and care for them at the most vulnerable times, this is truly a rewarding career.
