What inspired you to become a nurse?
I've known that emergency medicine was my calling for most of my life. After 10 years as a medic in the Army, I wanted to advance in my career. Nursing seemed like the best step forward and I am so happy I made that choice.
What is the best thing about Mount Carmel College of Nursing?
The friendliness and responsiveness of all my instructors have made this a very positive experience.
What are your goals for your nursing career?
I was recently promoted to Assistant Nurse Manager of my ER. After finishing my Bachelor of Science in nursing degree, I plan to continue to a master’s degree in nursing leadership.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Slow down and enjoy the quiet moments in life.
What advice would you give to someone considering a career in nursing?
It can be the most rewarding career you ever have, but it can also take an emotional toll. Self-care is extremely important.
