What inspired you to become a nurse?

I was motivated to become a nurse because I wanted to care for others when they are unable to care for themselves. I felt it was important to help care for and comfort those going through a tough time, especially in the health field, as they are vulnerable in this setting.

What is the best thing about Mount Carmel College of Nursing?

Being able to practice skills in the open lab with my classmates and then applying those skills in a clinical setting.

What are your goals for your nursing career?

Following graduation and passing the NCLEX, I hope to begin working on a labor and delivery floor or a mother/infant unit.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Give yourself some grace. It's ok not to have the answers to everything; everything will come together when it's meant to.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in nursing?

Becoming a nurse is hard work; therefore, I feel it's important to have a support system to lean on when things get tough. Making time for yourself and doing things you enjoy should be a high priority. There are going to be a lot of times when you are overwhelmed, but in the end, it will be worth it. If you trust and believe in yourself, you can do anything.
