Alyssa Fry has been named senior director of development for Mount Carmel College of Nursing. In this role, Fry will be responsible for all College fundraising efforts, working closely with President Christine Wynd, PhD, RN, and in partnership with Robin Hutchinson-Bell, director of College Relations and Debbie Boggs, director of Alumni Relations. She replaces Jan Burkey, who retired over the summer after serving the College in this role for 13 years.
Fry most recently served as development officer for the Mount Carmel Foundation, responsible for signature fundraising and donor relations events. Under her leadership, the 2015 Champagne and Diamonds gala raised $308,000 for Mount Carmel Outreach, a 29% increase over last year’s event. With her help, the most recent Mount Carmel Colleague Giving Campaign was a resounding success, incorporating a new fun baseball theme, engaging Sister Barbara Hahl, senior vice president of system mission and Sean McKibben, president of Mount Carmel West, as “coaches.” The campaign raised more than $318,000, a 40% increase over last year. Fry started her career at Mount Carmel as the volunteer manager at Mount Carmel East in 2010.
Prior to joining Mount Carmel, Fry was the senior learning for life executive at Boy Scouts of America, Simon Kenton Council, where she led fundraising, volunteer management, partnership and events activities for the program. She is very active in the community, having served as a Big Brothers/Big Sisters mentor and as a committee member for YWCA, Red Cross, Franklin Park Conservatory and Capital Square Rotary, where she also served as the membership committee co-chair. Fry earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University and she is currently a member of The Ohio State University's Women and Philanthropy organization and Delta Gamma's national sorority.
Fry will start her new position on September 7. Please help us welcome her to campus!
