I can’t live without… A morning cup of coffee
If I could spend the day with one person it would be… This is a challenging question to answer. There have been so many wonderful people who influenced my life. It would be really nice to spend a day with both of my parents. Until you lose one or both of them, you never appreciate what a gift God has given you in your parents.
If I could travel anywhere, I would go to… Someplace warm with a sandy beach and clear blue water.
When I have down time, I… I love to cook and have friends and family in for dinner.
My favorite movie is… Almost any old black and white movie.
The quote I tend to live by is… My parents where both children of the Great Depression. I grew up hearing stories of how tough times were during that period of time and what hope Franklin D Roosevelt offered the nation when he stated in his first inaugural address: “So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is...fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.”
I am a nurse educator because… In order to answer this question, you must first know that I am a nurse because I care about people. The opportunity to work and teach those that will care for people is a huge honor.
The best advice I could give to incoming freshmen is… Having just completed a major degree, the best advice I could offer to an incoming freshman is to persevere. Any academic journey is one filled with struggles and growth. Growth and change do not come easy. Commit yourself to your studies, seek out learning experiences whenever you can and persevere.
One thing you may not know about me is… I once attended the Pontifical College Josephinum and planned to be a Roman Catholic priest.
