AACN has developed some recommendations for our member schools to consider as they move ahead with their plans to address the COVID-19 outbreak in their local communities and campuses. The recommendations linked below relate to didactic and clinical education, student travel, alternate teaching approaches, and additional resources for faculty and students.

AACN also has planned a webinar series to help members in their planning and decision-making in response to the current challenges we are facing. The first webinar will be offered tomorrow, March 13, at 11:00 am (ET), with an introduction from AACN President and CEO Deborah Trautman, and featuring Dr. Tener Goodwin Veenema from Johns Hopkins University, an internationally recognized expert in disaster nursing and public health emergency. More information will be released later today on how to view the webinar series.

Please note that the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) is also preparing information for CCNE-accredited programs, with guidance related related to didactic coursework, clinical practice experiences, and substantive change notification. This statement will be released later today and sent to all CCNE-accredited programs.
