Mount Carmel College of Nursing Commencement weekend kicks off this Thursday with a series of three ceremonies to celebrate the 2017 graduating class:

Graduate Blessing and Recognition Ceremony, Thursday, May 4, 2017, at 6:30 p.m.: Master’s Hoods will be presented to 50 graduate students to be worn at the Commencement ceremony. The Graduate Blessing and Recognition Ceremony will be in the Medical Staff Building auditorium on Mount Carmel West campus, 793 W. State St, Columbus.

Undergraduate Pinning and Presentation of Student Awards Ceremony, Friday, May 5, 2017, at 7 p.m.: The tradition of pinning nursing graduates dates back to Florence Nightingale in the year 1860 where she wanted professional nurses to stand out and be respected, and a pin was a symbol of the profession of nursing. Today, each nursing institution awards their uniquely designed pin. MCCN faculty will pin undergraduates to symbolize their transition from students to professional nurses. The ceremony will be held at Grove City Church of the Nazarene, 4770 Hoover Rd. in Grove City.

Commencement Ceremony, Saturday, May 6, 2017, at noon: The Ceremony will feature Mayor Andrew J.Ginther as Commencement speaker. Approximately 280 undergraduate and graduate students will receive their degrees as the Class of 2017. The ceremony will be held at Grove City Church of the Nazarene.

Congratulations, Class of 2017!
