A message from Dr. Todd Ambrosia, DNP, MSN, MBA, FNP-BC, FRSPH, FNAP
Dear Alumni:
It is with deep sadness, but with profound gratitude, that we celebrate the life of beloved professor emeritus and friend, Pat McKnight, MS, RDN, LD, FADA, FAND. Pat passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
Pat was the longest serving faculty member at Mount Carmel College of Nursing, dedicating more than 60 years to our College, our health system, and the greater community we serve. Her passing leaves an immeasurable void, yet her influence and legacy will continue to shine brightly for generations to come.
Pat’s impact stretched far beyond the classroom. She served on, and led, countless health advocacy initiatives, shaping public health and nutrition policy, guiding professionals through the advocacy process, and championing the vital role nurses play in delivering exceptional care. Her tireless dedication, passion for education, and unwavering commitment to elevating the profession made her not only a legend here at MCCN, but a respected voice throughout the health care community.
To work beside Pat was a true privilege. She modeled excellence in everything she did through her kindness, wisdom, mentorship, and remarkable ability to inspire others to be their very best. As an educator and advocate, she stood in a class of her own. Pat didn’t simply teach; she shaped careers and lit paths forward for thousands of students, colleagues, and health care leaders.
While we will miss her presence, we are grateful for the opportunity to carry forward her legacy. Pat’s life was one of purpose, compassion, and unwavering devotion to the profession she loved. We honor her today, and always, with heartfelt appreciation for the extraordinary gifts she brought to MCCN and to the world.
Please keep Pat and her family in your prayers.
