What inspired you to become a nurse?

I’ve always been drawn to caring professions, and my background as an Army veteran and X-ray tech at a pediatric hospital deepened that calling. Seeing how nurses supported patients and families showed me how impactful nursing can be.

What is the best thing about Mount Carmel College of Nursing?

The strong sense of community and support. Faculty truly invest in our growth, and the program offers excellent clinical experiences that prepare us for real-world challenges.

What are your goals for your nursing career?

My goal is to become a neonatal or critical care nurse, starting in an ICU setting to build strong assessment and critical thinking skills, and eventually mentoring new nurses.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Trust the process and be patient with yourself. Every challenge builds the skills and resilience you’ll need as a nurse.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in nursing?

Shadow nurses in different specialties, ask questions, and make sure you love caring for people on their hardest days. Nursing is rewarding, but it demands both heart and hard work.
