Explore the 4c’s of Enhancing Physician/Nurse Interprofessional Practice: Communication, Collaboration, Culture of Safety and Compassionate Care

Sponsored by Mount Carmel College of Nursing (MCCN) with Mount Carmel Graduate Medical Education (GME), this four-week intensive program provides knowledge and skills to enrich the transition to and practice of professional roles.

Four sessions will be held. Participants are required to attend all sessions.

Limited to 16 participants who will:

  • Learn effective communication techniques for leading-practice problem solving, conflict and change management
  • Acquire strategies to build trust and enhance interprofessional teamwork
  • Understand quality, safety and patient satisfaction challenges
  • Assess own strengths and gain feedback on collaborative style and participation as a team member

A part of the Mount Carmel family since 2003, David is a highly qualified leader in Graduate Medical Education with extensive hospital and physician practice operations experience. Has a vast knowledge of many aspects of patient care with considerable experience in outpatient and inpatient physician practices. A Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, has a passion for creating and maintaining a safe, reliable, highly satisfying patient care environment and is skilled in improving healthcare and related processes. Demonstrates willingness and courage to tackle difficult strategic issues and cultural shifts. Is an asset to those around him by being an excellent, teacher, coach and servant leader.


David Aufdencamp

Briana Donaldson, DO

Dr. Donaldson graduated from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency at Doctor's Hospital.

Dr. Donaldson is a Board-Certified Internist that has previously worked both as a hospitalist and in a private office-based practice.

She is excited about working with residents in a nurturing environment. Her passion surrounds communication as key to quality based medical care. She is enthusiastic preparing future generations of physicians to become excellent practitioners. She presented "No Intern Left Behind" nationally at the ACGME conference, at the APDIM on resident education, and on resident suicide prevention at AAS.

She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, shopping, painting and fine dining.


Theresa Cragen Draher

Theresa (aka Terri) has been an employee in the Mount Carmel Health System for 44 years and is currently employed as a staff nurse in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) - Mount Carmel Grove City. Experience includes critical care nursing – Surgical ICU/ Open Heart Recovery; project management - Quality & Safety; instructor – Mount Carmel College of Nursing (MCCN). Theresa is licensed as an Adult Gerontology Nurse Specialist. Recognized as the 2019 MCCN Distinguished Alumnus, Theresa has a deep passion for nursing, patient-centered care, service excellence, teamwork, and quality outcomes. Theresa is willing and committed to serving our healthcare ministry as a leader in exploring innovative programs that align with strategic initiatives to promote safety in a high reliability organization.

Dr. Eapen is associate program director and director of Medical Student Education at Mount Carmel Health System. He is a board-certified internist and graduate of Mount Carmel’s residency program. Dr. Eapen is directly involved with residents and medical students on inpatient rounds. His passions include emphasis on evidence-based medicine, medical simulation and medical jeopardy. He loves being at Mount Carmel because of the amazing atmosphere for teaching, and one-on-one interaction with residents. He loves opening the eyes of the residents and medical students to the great and wonderful world of Internal Medicine. He enjoys spending time with his wife Jenny, who is a hospitalist at Mount Carmel West, and their three daughters Jaya, Aysha and Saraya.


Jami Nininger

Dr. Nininger is the Associate Dean of Graduate and Distance Education at Mount Carmel College of Nursing. In addition to her 26 years in nursing education, Dr. Nininger has 21 years of experience working in Surgical ICU/Open heart recovery. Her passion for interprofessional collaboration comes through her lived experience in ICU where working as a member of the interdisciplinary team-based was the established foundation for driving quality patient outcomes and excellence in care delivery.
