If you live outside Ohio and are considering enrolling in an online program that leads to a professional license, you must contact the appropriate state Licensing Agency in your state or the state where you intend to work to verify the most up-to-date information about state licensure requirements before beginning the program. Mount Carmel College of Nursing makes every effort to ensure licensure information is current; however, licensure regulations are frequently revised.

Licensing Agency

MCCN's approval for institutional participation was granted by the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) on August 22, 2017.

Professional Board Licensure

The Alabama Board of Nursing requires faculty teaching online nursing courses to students located in Alabama to be licensed in Alabama. Mount Carmel College of Nursing is not able to meet the Board's requirement for online faculty to be licensed in Alabama at this time. Therefore, MCCN is not offering online nursing programs to students located in Alabama.

Alaska

Licensing Agency

The Arkansas Board of Nursing requires faculty teaching online nursing courses to students located in Alabama to be licensed in Alabama. Mount Carmel College of Nursing is not able to meet the Board's requirement for online faculty to be licensed in Arkansas at this time. Therefore, MCCN is not offering online nursing programs to students located in Arkansas.

California

Licensing Agency

The California Bureau of Private Postsecondary Education does not regulate out-of-state public institutions. Therefore, Bureau approval for Mount Carmel College of Nursing to offer distance education programs to students located in California is not required.

Professional Board Licensure

Mount Carmel College of Nursing may offer the online Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree completion (RN-BSN), Master of Science – Nursing Leadership in Clinical Operations, post-graduate Nurse Educator Certificate and Doctor of Nursing Practice (post-master's DNP) to students located in Arizona.

The online post-graduate AG-ACNP certificate program is not currently available to students located in California.

Colorado

Licensing Agency

Mount Carmel College of Nursing (MCCN) is authorized to operate in Colorado through mutual participation in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA). MCCN's approval for institutional participation in SARA was granted by the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) on August 22, 2017. Colorado Revised Statute 8-40-302 requires students to be covered by workers' compensation insurance while completing an on-ground internship, clinical, or practicum experience.

Professional Board Licensure

Colorado Revised Statute 8-40-302 requires students to be covered by workers' compensation insurance while completing an on-ground clinical experience. Because the programs include a clinical component, Mount Carmel College of Nursing is not enrolling students located in Colorado in the online MS in Nursing or post-graduate certificate (Nursing Education, Nursing Leadership in Clinical Operations or AG-ACNP) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (post-master's DNP) degree programs.

MCCN may offer the online Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree completion (RN-BSN) program to students in Colorado.

Connecticut

Mount Carmel College of Nursing is not able to meet the Board's requirement for remote clinical faculty to be licensed in Minnesota at this time. Therefore, MCCN is not offering the online MS in Nursing programs, Doctor of Nursing Practice, or post-graduate certificate programs to students located in Minnesota.

Mississippi

Mount Carmel College of Nursing (MCCN) is authorized to operate in Wisconsin through mutual participation in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA). MCCN's approval for institutional participation in SARA was granted by the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) on August 22, 2017.
