1. What does the graduate certificate allow you to do?
This program prepares licensed registered nurses, who already have a Master of Science degree, for the role of qualified educator in an academic health care setting.
2. Is this program available on-line?
The graduate certificate program can be conveniently studied on-line as well as on-site.
3. How long will it take to complete the program?
Full-time students can complete the program in three-four semesters.
4. Will I need a computer?
Yes, you will need a computer with personal access to the internet.
5. Is there a practicum required?
Option to waive the NURS 747 Educator Practicum for the Graduate Certificate student if evidence of professional teaching experience is provided. Certificate would be awarded upon successful completion of NURS 742, 746, 743
6. When do you accept applications to the graduate certificate program?
Admission applications are accepted for Fall Semester, Winter Semester and Summer Session.
7. What is the deadline to apply?
We encourage admission materials be submitted at least two months prior to the semester the student plans to begin studies.
8) What are the admission requirements to the program?
The admissions requirements for the program include:
- Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program; accreditation by either the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education
- Current unrestricted RN license
9) When will my application be considered?
Your application can be considered when all of the following information has been provided:
- Completed application
- $30 application fee
- Official transcript(s) from master's program in nursing
- Current resume
