When did you first feel the call to be a nurse? The earliest recollection I had was at four years old. I liked to put band-aids on my dolls to heal their wounds.

What television show do you have to DVR every week? “Grey’s Anatomy.”

What is your favorite memory of Mount Carmel? My favorite Mount Carmel memory is from a patient experience I had during clinical experience my sophomore year at Mount Carmel West Hospital. The patient was so thankful to have his hair washed he wrote me a thank you note and mailed it to the College. This affirmed for me that I was on the right career path, and that it is the little things that nurses do that really impact the lives of the patients we serve.

How has your Mount Carmel network helped you in your life, personally or professionally or both? The network of both personal and professional colleagues that I have built over the years is priceless. If I need an expert to learn more about a topic or just to seek advice, there is usually someone within the network that I can call on.

What book is currently on your nightstand (or at the top of your Kindle favorites)? John Maxwell’s 21 Indispensible Qualities of a Leader.

What advice would you like to share with other nurses as they move from student to alumni of Mount Carmel? Never stop learning. Treat each day as an opportunity to learn, grow and reconnect with your passion for nursing and leadership.
