What inspired you to become a nurse?

When I was growing up there were not many options for women to pursue after high school graduation. The options were teacher, nurse, or secretary. My sister graduated from college and became a teacher, so my mother encouraged me to become a nurse. She was a very wise woman and had great insight which led me to Mount Carmel School of Nursing in the fall of 1963 begin my nursing journey. It has been a great journey and after 58 years of being on that journey, I have never regretted the decision that I made so many years ago.

What do you love about teaching?

I truly believe that I can make a difference, and having a student thank me for assisting them in their educational journey confirms my belief.
