What inspired you to become a nurse?

My family is split between teachers and health care providers (physicians/nurses). I was so torn on what path I wanted to take when I was selecting a college, but I kept coming back to education or nursing. I loved hearing stories of both careers growing up and that is why I was pulled to those two options. Ultimately, I decided that nursing would open more doors for me, and I have never regretted my decision!

What do you love about teaching?

I love getting to know the students and being a part of their journey. Being able to watch them evolve is something that I try to never take for granted.

What is the best thing about Mount Carmel College of Nursing?

The students and the College of Nursing team.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

Approach every single day like you are interviewing for your next job, because you never know when you actually will be!

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in nursing?

I would encourage the prospective student to truly reflect on what is required of a nursing student. It is one of the most challenging degrees to obtain and you must be "all in." However, it is one of the most rewarding careers you could pursue. You will be with patients during the highest of highs and lowest of lows, and that is something that you should never take for granted.
