What inspired you to become a nurse?

Ever since I was little, I had dreams of becoming a nurse. I played nurse and all my dolls were my patients. My grandma had always wanted one of her grandchildren to become a nurse, and I knew I wanted to do that for her. I spent a lot of time in hospitals growing up with a few nurses who did not show much empathy. I promised myself to never be like those nurses with my patients.

What is the best thing about Mount Carmel College of Nursing?

One of the best things at MCCN is the small class sizes. This allows for more hands-on experience in clinicals and labs. I also like the individual attention given by professors.

What are your goals for your nursing career?

For my nursing career, I would love to be in the NICU, Pediatrics, or Labor and Delivery. I have also thought about travel nursing—being able to experience different hospitals and places while making an impact in someone’s life.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

I would tell myself that the change was scary but look how far you have come. Nursing school is hard, but you've gotten through all of those stressful times. You have one semester left of nursing school and are graduating a year early!

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in nursing?

There are so many different areas that are available to you in this field. Experience everything and don't let the little things set you back. Not every day is the same, anything can happen.
