What inspired you to become a nurse?

Nursing has always been a part of my life. Coming from a family of nurses, it was in my nature to follow the path. I always enjoyed helping people with their needs, whether it be doing my friend’s makeup for school dances or assisting a patient with a bed bath. One reason I chose nursing is to improve people’s self-image. Growing up I struggled with self-image, and it negatively impacted my self-esteem. I tried so many different solutions to help it. I finally went to see a nurse practitioner that specializes in dermatology, and from there, I knew what I wanted to do. I provide care to help individuals feel and look their best.

I chose Mount Carmel College of Nursing because it fits all the needs that are important to my education.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in nursing?

You have to be willing to make sacrifices. Nursing school takes a lot of time, dedication, and drive. You must have a good mindset and time management system to get through any program. You can’t depend on other people to get you through your program. You are the only person that can determine how much you want to pursue your career.
