What inspired you to become a nurse?

During the pandemic, I wanted a way to use my people skills in a more hands-on "I made a difference today" way.

What is the best thing about Mount Carmel College of Nursing?

The SDAP program can't be beat for speed. Yes, it's intense, but to earn a bachelor’s degree in such a short time allows you to be working in a nursing role quickly.

What are your goals for your nursing career?

I come from a marketing background and the more I work with patients, the more I see the need for healthcare content and storytelling that makes a difference in a relatable way to folks experiencing a health crisis. My goal is to use my experience in marketing with my experience with patients "in the trenches" to create compelling content that saves lives for hospitals, doctor's offices, and healthcare companies across the world.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

You are smart and are capable of learning anything. Don't doubt yourself and be willing to have a beginner's mind.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in nursing?

Protect your tender heart! This profession can be tough emotionally, physically, and spiritually...carve space for yourself to rest and recalibrate outside your job. Just push through … you can do it!
