As part of our ongoing series of student profiles, this month we feature Amy Vasquez, MCCN-Lancaster senior.

Name: Amy Vasquez

Nickname: None.

Hometown: New Lexington, Ohio.

I can’t live without: Spending time with my family.

If I could spend the day with one person it would be: My great uncle who passed about 13 years ago. He was a big role model in my life.

If I could travel anywhere, I would go to: Australia.

When I have down time, I: Enjoy reading and going to the movies with family.

The quote I tend to live by is: Live life to the fullest every day because the next day is never a guarantee.

I want to be a nurse because: My great uncle was the biggest influence to me because he was a dialysis patient for 20 years and I would help him as much as possible.

After I graduate I want to: Become a medical surgical nurse for the first few years and then I would like to work in a palliative care unit.

One thing you may not know about me is: I am a mother of four teenage boys and wife of 16 years.
