Nurses Week – which began Sunday, May 6, and ends on Saturday, May 12 – celebrates the nursing profession and the vital roles nurses play in healthcare. According to the American Nurses Association, the theme of the 2018 Nurses Week is, “Nurses: Inspire, Innovate, Influence.” Nurses Week was first celebrated on May 6, 1954, the 100th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s famous mission to the Crimea, and ends on Florence Nightingale’s birthday.
