Dr. Brooks

Dear MCCN Faculty, Staff and Students:

If you listen closely you may actually hear the sound of jingle bells in the corridors as we all enjoy the celebration of the holidays this month! We begin December by recognizing Hanukkah (Judaism) now through Dec. 10, take note of Bodhi Day (Buddhism) on Dec. 8, highlight Kwanza Dec. 26 to Jan. 1, 2019, and rejoice as we say “Merry Christmas” on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, one of the holiest days of the Christian calendar. Of course, all students are urged to stay focused, and rein in your holiday mindset until after final exams on December 14!

I want to take this opportunity to say a sincere thank you for all of your well wishes and notes of congratulations following my Commissioning as president, MCCN, in November. The celebration of the Mass was quite moving and I am most honored to serve each of you in this role.

Also, as we look to next year, I’ll continue my focus on our Journey to Transformation through implementation of the strategic plan and preparation for continuing campus enhancements as Mount Carmel West relocates inpatient care to Mount Carmel Grove City on February 24. We also anticipate the arrival of our new academic dean, Dr. Kathleen Williamson, on January 3. It’s certainly an exciting time for MCCN!

I wish each of you a blessed and wonder-filled holiday and Happy New Year – and look forward to seeing you in January!

With gratitude,
Dr. Ann Marie Brooks
