MCCN and Mount Carmel West honored those who are veterans in the Mount Carmel family by hosting them for lunch and a program. In addition to honoring veterans who work and study among us, the program featured a display with many items used and brought home from the battlefield by those who defended our nation. The event also featured an empty round table with a complete table setting, which represented those men and women who are prisoners of war or missing in action.

The Mount Carmel Alumni Association is pleased to help students get through finals with the return of Finals Week Breakfasts. The Alumni Association will offer this special treat on December 15 and 16 at both the Columbus and FMC campuses. The breakfast is free for students and only $5.00 for faculty and staff.

Here’s a quick round-up of what’s happening at MCCN-FMC.

Feature Student Spotlight: Rebakah Young, President, SNAM-FMC

As part of our ongoing series to profile faculty, staff and student representatives, this month we feature A.J. Yost, President of MCCN-FMC’s Student Advisory Council.

Each year, MCCN sends interested students to participate in Nurses Day at the Ohio Statehouse. Organized by the Ohio Nurses Association, the annual event brings together nursing advocates with state legislators to discuss policies and issues important to nurses. It’s a great opportunity to see how public policy intersects with nursing at the bedside.

As part of our ongoing series to profile faculty, staff and student representatives, we also feature Kim Campbell, MEd, Director of Admissions and Recruitment.

On November 13, a record 113 new members were inducted into the Rho Omicron Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, the honor society of nursing, during a festive and dynamic ceremony held in the Medical Staff Building at Mount Carmel West. The inductees consisted of students and nurses from the undergraduate program, the RN-BSN program, the graduate program and community leaders.
